So you have daily oral PrEP, which means that you take a pill every day to prevent acquiring HIV.
Then, there’s also on-demand PrEP. So, maybe you are not as sexually active and you don’t feel the need to take a pill every day. You can take two pills 24 hours before a possible risk exposure. And then take a pill 24 hours after that pill, and then another pill 24 hours after that. And that gives you enough PrEP in your system to prevent acquiring HIV. So it’s good for those fun weekends or those vacations that you may go on.
And then you have long-acting injectable PrEP. Long-acting injectable PrEP means that you get a shot every few months that can prevent you from acquiring HIV, so you don’t even have to take a pill at all to maintain a negative HIV status.
You get to choose what’s right for you.
