Let’s Talk About STIs

I am Dr. Leandro Mena, and I am here to talk all things STIs.

STIs are very common. The CDC estimates that one in five Americans have an STI.

While STIs can affect anyone, some groups are more affected than others. Young people, people ages 15 to 25 years old, represent more than half of all STIs in the United States.

Most people who have an STI actually may not know that they have one because they don’t develop any symptoms.

So, that’s why it’s so important that people who are sexually active talk to their healthcare providers and get tested for STIs. And if they have one, they get treated.
