Got questions about HIV care and treatment, Ask the HIV Doc has all the answers.
[Why do I need HIV treatment?]
It helps your immune system stay healthy. You’re not going to get sick and it prevents the spread of HIV to your sexual partners.
[Two numbers to know: CD4/T-Cell Count and Viral Load] T-cell count or what’s called the Cd4. Remember they are the exact same thing. These are the immune system cells.
The viral load is actually telling you how much of the virus is in your blood stream.
Your tcell count you want to be high and your viral load you want to be low.
[How do you get to undetectable?] It’s a simple equation, take the medication every day and it’s going to work.
Don’t think that you don’t make enough money and you can’t afford the medication.
Even when it seems like things are going to be really dark, there are resources out there.
