Herbal treatments you say? Dr. David breaks down the risks of non-approved, alternative treatments for people living with HIV.
There are currently no herbal treatments that are known to cure HIV/AIDS. Some of the herbal treatments that you see online or read about have not been tested and they could be scams created to make money. Someone with HIV must also be careful about herbal medications causing harm to the liver and other organs. They could also interact with antiretroviral medications (ARVs) and cause side effects.
If you are considering taking herbal treatments, talk with your medical provider and make a decision together.
