Ending HIV Stigma: Marnina

Women of color, and in particular, black women have such a high incidence of HIV diagnosis. We need to see more of us on the front lines talking about HIV, so that we can eradicate the stigma around it.

I think it’s extremely important that we talk to younger girls, or even older women, about self-worth and self-love and self-care.

One of the things that has been so beneficial in my life is having folks living with HIV that have been able to love on me and have their arms around me has really catapulted me into a place where I not only love myself but I’ve kind of been able to just be free with my HIV diagnosis and have that weight lifted off.

Be Informed, Talk Openly

Knowing the facts and talking openly about HIV helps end stigma. Having the support of loved ones improves the health and well-being of people living with HIV.
