PrEP is for people who do not have HIV and want added protection. When taken as prescribed, this daily pill has been shown to be highly effective in protecting against HIV.

Most insurance plans, including Medicaid, cover PrEP. No insurance? There are options.

Eligible Virginia residents can get PrEP and related visits at little to no cost from select health departments. For more about the Virginia PrEP Drug Assistance Program call 1-800-533-4148.
