The Ryan White HIV / AIDS Program works with health departments and community-based organizations to provide HIV-related medical care and prescription drugs for people living with HIV who have no insurance, need services their insurance doesn’t cover or need help with insurance costs.
The program also provides other essential support services for people living with HIV including transportation, housing assistance, dental and mental health, substance abuse and more.

About the Ryan White HIV / AIDS Program
The Ryan White HIV / AIDS Program is a federally funded program established in 1990 to provide HIV care and support services for lower-income people living with HIV. It was named for Ryan White, a boy living with HIV in Indiana who, with his mother, confronted HIV / AIDS stigma and discrimination in the 1980s. White died at age 18, the year the legislation was passed. Today, the program provides care to more than half of all people living with diagnosed HIV in the United States.
Most program funds support primary medical care, treatment and support services that help individuals stay engaged in care. This includes case management, transportation and housing support. The program also fills in gaps in the insurance plans of people with HIV.
