Louisiana always knows how to have a good time, and two upcoming AIDS awareness events are no exception.

Watch some serious hoop action at a celebrity basketball game honoring National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day in Baton Rouge, or get your march on with an HIV awareness parade in New Orleans.  There is even FREE confidential HIV testing at the end of the parade route!

Show your support for the cause and help the community at these fun events. Together, Louisiana can be Greater than AIDS! See below for all the vital details:

BATON ROUGE CELEBRITY BASKETBALL GAME – Feb. 11

WHAT:   Join MAX 94.1’s SupaMike and the Nubian Kruzers at “Hooping It Up for HIV Awareness”, a 7th annual celebrity basketball game to recognize National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.

WHERE:  Southern University A&M College in Seymour Gymnasium

WHEN:  February 11, 2012, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.

WHO:   FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

NEW ORLEANS RED UMBRELLA MARCH – March 10

WHAT: Red Umbrella March to raise awareness about the rising rate of HIV/AIDS infections among the African American community in New Orleans.   The parade will end at Congo Square with speakers, music and confidential FREE HIV Testing.

WHERE:  The March will begin at Hunters Field Playground at the corner of St. Bernard and N. Claiborne Avenues at 2 p.m.  Then, it will proceed through the 7th Ward into one of our most vulnerable and historic neighborhoods, the Treme, finally ending in Congo Square.

WHEN:  March 10th, 2:00PM
