WALGREENS AND GREATER THAN AIDS TEAM UP AT USCA

Walgreens, the nation’s largest drug store chain, announced an expanded commitment to HIV/AIDS at the U.S. Conference on AIDS taking place in Chicago, November 10 – 13, 2011.   In a key note address during the opening session before the more than 2,000 conference delegates, Jack Cantlin, vice president of retail clinical services at Walgreens spoke of the company’s work with Greater Than AIDS to increase knowledge and confront stigma as part of a new initiative to certify more than 500 HIV Centers of Excellence in heavily affected communities  .

Together with Greater Than AIDS, Walgreens is distributing targeted informational materials, placing in-store signage and other messages, and conducting special events and promotions to support HIV testing.
